Spring, Summer and Autumn

Experience the Villnöss Valley between blossoming alpine meadows, sunny high-altitude trails or golden autumn forests - and enjoy the pristine nature of the Dolomites.

  • Endless opportunities await you to explore the Dolomite landscape right on the doorstep of your holiday flat while hiking - from leisurely walks to challenging summit tours and via ferratas. For ambitious mountaineers, we recommend tours with a mountain guide to climb the peaks safely. Along the way, cosy mountain huts tempt you from May to November with good food from their alpine kitchens.

  • Autumn is also a wonderful time for hiking - stroll through coloured forests and breathe in the fresh mountain air! Autumn is Törggele time in South Tyrol, when farms treat their guests to home cooking and refined dishes. We recommend a hike from the Ganoihof via the ‘Ottohöhe’ to the Jausestation Moarhof in St. Jakob.

  • Cyclists can expect leisurely trails through the valleys, challenging racing bike routes over mountain passes or mountain bike tours in alpine terrain - everyone will find the right terrain here.

  • The high ropes course in St. Magdalena offers fun and thrills between the treetops. Climbing enthusiasts will get their money's worth at the Vertikale Brixen climbing centre, even in bad weather.

  • The outdoor pools in Klausen and Brixen, the Völser Weiher pond or the natural swimming pond in Lüsen are ideal for cooling off on hot days.

  • In the pools, thermal baths and saunas in Brixen, Meran, Sterzing or Reischach you can relax after an active day.

  • For those interested in history, we recommend a visit to the Säben or Neustift monasteries and the Trostburg castle near Waidbruck. Take a stroll through the charming little town of Klausen with its narrow alleyways, historic buildings and cosy cafés. Visible from the Ganoihof is the Church of St Jakob, near the pre-Christian sacrificial site of Tschaufis. Alongside other churches in the valley it invites you to marvel at the architectural development through the ages, valuable frescoes and altars.

  • The Mineral Museum in Teis and the Puez-Geisler Nature Park Visitor Center offer exciting insights into the region's nature and geology. We also recommend a visit to the Reinhold Messner mountain museums. Reinhold Messner grew up near the Ganoihof in Pitzack and became world-famous for his mountaineering skills. He still fascinates people today with his philosophy, his critical spirit and his achievements as a cultural ambassador. The six ‘Messner Mountain Museums’ in breathtaking locations offer a spectacular insight into the fascination of the mountains, as well as the culture and history of the Dolomites. In our library at the Ganoihof you will find selected books by Messner.

  • At the Gruberhof in Coll or at Romina Cosentino in Teis, horse lovers can enjoy guided rides through the picturesque landscape or learn more about horses.

We are happy to help you plan your activities during your stay on our farm. In our library at the Ganoihof you will also find a large selection of hiking guides and maps.
